Except when he was earning his Masters of Fine art from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University, Brian has lived in the Los Angeles area all his life. As the child of a Civil Engineer he learned to examine functionality and developed an investigative disposition. His ceramics break the boundaries of the ceramic arts. His drawings have a grace as they examine structure. His photography shows his unique eye. Currently teaching ceramics, Brian has exhibited his work in Los Angeles at the McGroarty Arts Center, the Creative Arts Center/Gallery, Thalberg Annex Gallery, and the American Museum of Ceramic Art among others. Outside of California he has at numerous venues including the Fosdick-Nelson Gallery, George R. Gardiner Museum of Ceramic Art, and the Montgomery Museum of Fine Art. He has received many awards including most recently Best of Show in the 2008 AMOCA/ACS-DC Diversity in Clay. |
